RF Blocker GOLD is a high specification radio frequency (RF) filter array with switched filter selection. Supplied in pairs with either Spade or Banana terminals, or bare wires, they simply fit across the loudspeaker + and – input or output terminals. The RF Blocker GOLD is an upgraded version of our successful standard RF Blocker product.
RF ‘noise’ is picked up by cables, connectors, solid-state and valve electronics, and loudspeaker coils unless perfectly screened against RF, which is impossible to achieve. Filtering out RF ‘hash’ is advisable for highest fidelity performance and that is what these GOLD Blocker’s do.
The RF Blocker GOLD is entirely passive, has no effect on impedance or any other amplifier/speaker characteristics, eliminating both a broad spectrum of RF both entering the loudspeaker from the amplifier side via the loudspeaker cable; and also preventing RF from re-entering the amplifier's feedback circuit via the loudspeaker wires, picked up on internal loudspeaker crossover components, loudspeaker cone coils, internal wires and loudspeaker cables.
The resulting increase in audible fidelity when the Blockers are in circuit is usually clear to hear, an increase in musical coherence; the high frequencies in particular are clearer, mids cleaner and less 'confused' the bass tighter and less ‘boxy’. The overall effect is of less 'confused' musical details, so getting you closer to the music.
Product Description
The RF Blocker Gold is manufactured to high audiophile standards, all signal parts are cryogenically treated. High quality electrical components are used, all housed in a die-cast aluminium box acting as a Faraday cage to ensure no additional RF interference enters the audio chain. DIP switches turn on/off the 4 x RF filters. An earthing connector is fitted to the case for those who wish to earth them.
Short attaching cables are multi-strand single crystal (UP-OCC) hybrid copper/silver construction. The connector options are spade, banana or bare wire ends.
The RF Blocker GOLD filters are also supplied without connecting cables for customers who wish to construct their own cable connections (connected to the RF Blocker units with Banana plugs).
